This eight-day itinerary is built around that, using Luxor as the base for eclipse morning and the ancient sites either side of it.
After Cairo and Giza, you fly to Luxor for Karnak, the Valley of the Kings and the eclipse itself, then join a Nile cruise through Edfu and Kom Ombo to Aswan and Philae. Private guiding throughout, with eclipse-day timings planned in advance rather than improvised.

The Aswan High Dam and the temple of Isis at Philae, moved island-to-island to save it from the reservoir. Afternoon felucca sail past Elephantine Island.
