After breakfast, meet your private Egyptologist guide and visit the Giza Plateau: the Great Pyramid of Khufu, the pyramids of Khafre and Menkaure, the Solar Boat Museum, and the iconic Sphinx. Enjoy a fine lunch at a panoramic restaurant overlooking the pyramids. Continue to the Egyptian Museum to view the treasures of Tutankhamun and a guided walk through Egypt's most significant artifacts.

Drive south to Memphis, the ancient capital of the Old Kingdom, to see the alabaster Sphinx and the colossal statue of Ramses II. Continue to Sakkara, home to the Step Pyramid of Djoser, the world's earliest large stone monument. After lunch, transfer to Cairo airport for your flight to Luxor and check into a luxury Nile-side hotel or premium cruise ship.

Visit the East Bank, beginning with the Karnak Temple complex — the largest religious site of antiquity. Continue to Luxor Temple, lit beautifully in the late afternoon. Lunch at a fine local restaurant. The evening is yours for a refined dinner or a private felucca ride at sunset.

After breakfast, cross to the West Bank to explore the Valley of the Kings with your private guide, including the well-preserved tombs of Ramses and Tutankhamun (admission to a special tomb optional). Visit the Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir El Bahari, carved into a sheer cliff, and the Colossi of Memnon. Travel onward to Aswan via private transfer or domestic flight.

Visit the Aswan High Dam, an engineering marvel that reshaped modern Egypt, and the elegant Philae Temple, relocated stone-by-stone to its island home. Lunch at a riverside restaurant, then enjoy a relaxing private felucca sail past Elephantine Island and the Botanical Gardens at sunset.

An optional early-morning excursion to Abu Simbel — the colossal twin temples built by Ramses II and rescued from the rising waters of Lake Nasser — is one of Egypt's most rewarding side trips. Alternatively, enjoy a slow day in Aswan: visit a Nubian village, browse the spice market, or relax by the pool.
