Prince Abbas Lake Nasser Cruise

Enjoy breakfast as the cruise sails toward Kasr Ibrim. From the sun deck, view the remains of this ancient fortress, now an island rising from the waters of Lake Nasser. After lunch, disembark to visit the Temple of Amada, one of the oldest in Nubia, built by Thutmose III and later expanded by Amenhotep II and Thutmose IV.

Continue to the Temple of Derr, a rock-cut sanctuary of Ramesses II, and the Tomb of Pennut, the burial site of a Viceroy of Kush, both relocated to preserve them from flooding. Return to the ship for a cocktail reception followed by a lively Nubian folklore performance.

After breakfast, visit Wadi El Seboua, known as the “Valley of the Lions,” where sphinx-lined avenues lead to temples built by Ramesses II. Explore the relocated temples of Dakka and Maharraqa, each showcasing remarkable architectural details from the New Kingdom and Greco-Roman eras. Return to the cruise for lunch as you sail toward Aswan, enjoying the tranquil scenery of Lake Nasser. Dinner and overnight on board.

After breakfast, disembark for a guided visit to Kalabsha Temple, originally located further south and moved to its current site after the construction of the High Dam. Built during the Ptolemaic period and completed under Roman rule, the temple is dedicated to the Nubian god Mandulis and features a blend of Egyptian and Roman motifs. After the tour, disembark and transfer to your hotel in Aswan or onward destination.

Upon arrival in Aswan, you will be greeted and transferred to board the Prince Abbas Lake Nasser Cruise. After check-in, enjoy lunch on board. In the afternoon, begin your exploration of Aswan with visits to the High Dam, the Temple of Philae on Agilika Island dedicated to the goddess Isis, and the Unfinished Obelisk in the ancient granite quarries. Return to the cruise for dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast, visit Kalabsha Temple, relocated to its current site after the High Dam’s construction. The temple, built during the late Ptolemaic and Roman periods, honors the Nubian deity Mandulis. Continue to Beit El Wali, a small rock-cut temple built by Ramesses II, notable for its colorful reliefs depicting military victories. Return to the cruise for lunch as the ship sails toward Wadi El Seboua, crossing the Tropic of Cancer. Dinner and overnight on board.

After breakfast, disembark to explore Wadi El Seboua, where a sphinx-lined avenue leads to the temple of Ramesses II. Visit the nearby Temple of Dakka, dedicated to Thoth, and the Temple of Maharraqa, known for its spiral staircase. Return to the cruise for lunch as you sail to Amada. Dinner and overnight near Amada.

After breakfast, visit the Temple of Amada, the oldest in Nubia, dating back to Thutmose III, with beautifully preserved reliefs and colors. Continue to the Temple of Derr and the Tomb of Pennut. Sail to Kasr Ibrim, the only ancient site still in its original location, and view it from the sun deck as landing is not permitted. Continue sailing to Abu Simbel for dinner and overnight. In the evening, you may attend the optional Sound and Light Show at Abu Simbel.

After breakfast, visit the awe-inspiring Abu Simbel Temples, carved into the mountainside by Ramesses II and relocated in the 1960s to save them from submersion. Admire the colossal statues and intricate carvings that celebrate the pharaoh’s legacy. After the visit, return to the cruise for check-out and transfer to Abu Simbel Airport or your next destination.
